Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our healthcare team. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and acute care environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and be committed to helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals through effective therapy interventions.
Duties
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in developing and implementing individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Provide direct patient care by administering therapeutic exercises, activities, and modalities as prescribed.
- Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, exercises, and strategies for improving daily living skills.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and support.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to facility protocols and safety regulations.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities to enhance skills in occupational health.
Qualifications
- Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical imaging relevant to occupational therapy practices.
- Experience in a skilled nursing facility or outpatient setting is preferred.
- Strong patient care skills with the ability to assist patients effectively during therapy sessions.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
