Compensation: $1080 per session
Schedule:
Camp Session #1: June 16-27, 2025 9am-3pm, Music Hall at Fair Park
Camp Session #2: July 14-25, 2025 9am-3pm, Briscoe Event Center

Position Summary:
Musical Theatre Summer Camp Counselors will work alongside Teaching Artists (TA) in Broadway Dallas’ musical theatre summer camp for elementary and middle school aged students. Camp Counselors will assist TAs in choreography, production, and music classes, as well as help facilitate summer camp fun! This position requires regular on-site work in and around the Music Hall at Fair Park. Familiarity with Fair Park and its surrounding neighborhoods is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Collaborate with BD Education & Community Partnerships (ECP) staff members and Teaching Artists (TAs) during summer camp hours.
• Serve as assistants to TAs in-classroom and during breaks.
• Manage classroom/rehearsal behavior, assist campers in learning camp material, and lead arts/crafts activities.
• Strongly and positively represent BD to campers, parents, and other arts, education, and civic organizations in the community.
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pursuing a college musical theatre degree and/or some professional performance experience.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and ability to complete assigned tasks.
• Demonstrated clear and concise written and verbal communications skills.
• Access to consistent method of transport to/from Fair Park and other designated work locations
• Availability without exception for entirety of at least one camp session.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
• Teaching and administering theater education/community programs in a school or arts organization setting.
• Fluency in Spanish.
• Reading music and/or playing an instrument.
• Stage management experience.
• Demonstrated appreciation of musical theatre or the performing arts in general.
Working Conditions:
• Some office tasks and computer work.
• Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work around children including sitting, standing, running, and climbing stairs.
