JOB STATEMENT:
The behavioral health therapist, as part of the primary care team, is able to provide consultation with the internist and care team around whether additional behavioral health assessment or treatment is indicated. The therapist will provide comprehensive mental health assessments for identified patients/clients which will ultimately support diagnostic clarity and treatment recommendations. The therapist will provide brief solution-focused therapy for clients as indicated as well as providing referral recommendations and bridge therapy for clients/families needing more ongoing, regular, or intensive level therapy. The therapist will communicate directly with the primary care provider as necessary regarding client progress, will coordinate with community resources/services, will accurately document the client visits in the electronic health record, and will attend appropriate department meetings.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists primary care provider in recognizing and treating behavioral diagnoses
- Works with the primary care team to treat and support clients efficiently and effectively
- Utilizes interview, observation, and collaborative information to complete comprehensive mental health assessments, generate differential diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans for clients
- Assesses for level of treatment need and coordinates transfer to higher level of care as appropriate
- Provides individualized short-term and maintenance level mental health therapy via individual and family sessions for clients and families as outlined in treatment plans
- Collaborate and consult with primary care providers as well as psychiatric providers to ensure care coordination and wholistic support
- Creates and presents mental health trainings for medical staff as needed
- Maintains thorough and consistent documentation for electronic medical record
- Other duties as assigned
Compensation:
Salary range is for full-time employment and based on experience $88,000-$93,000 per year production bonuses quarterly.
- For full time status we use a baseline definition of 4 days per week, 32 patient contact hours.

- $2,500 CME expenses allowed annually
- Malpractice claims made at $2M/$6M.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Holds current unencumbered license to practice in the state of Oregon with licensure as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or PsyD (or equivalent licensure)
- 2 years in direct counseling
- Experience with documenting in electronic health record system with CPT 4 and ICD 10 coding preferred.
