Housekeeper

Position Type: Full time 

Compensation: $17.00/hour

Location: Broadway Plaza, Rochester, MN

Schedule:  Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM. *Schedules may change based on business needs. May include holidays and alternate workdays or hours as needed.

About the job:

What you’ll be doing: 

• Clean and maintain all apartments on a daily or weekly basis. 
• Sweep, scrub and mop floors.
• Vacuum clean carpets.
• Dust and polish furniture and fittings. 
• Empty and clean trash containers.
• Dispose of Trash.
• Clean and wash toilets, mirrors, showers, countertops, stoves, ovens, dishes, and fridge. 
• Make up beds and change linen as required. 
• Stock and maintain housekeeping carts and storage rooms. 
• The ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and guests is a necessary skill for this position.
• Other duties as assigned. 

Additional Responsibilities: 

• Clean and make ready the apartments after a guest has vacated. 
• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

• This position does not supervise any employees.

• May also provide cross-training for staff. 

About you:

What you’ll bring: 

• Minimum of 1 year hospitality experience is a plus. 

What we are looking for:

• Must have strong attention to detail.
• Ability to understand and speak English and have good communication skills.
• Candidate must be able to work occasional holidays and weekends.
• Must have ability to move, lift carry push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Stand or walk for an extended period.
• Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and methods.
• Working knowledge of operating cleaning equipment.

 Work Environment: 

This work environment for this role is typical of most housekeeping working conditions. Equipment will be kept in a storage room, and most cleaning duties will take place within various hotel rooms. May occasionally clean hotel apartments and common areas.

Physical Demands: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and listen. The employee is frequently required to use their hands. The employee must have the ability to use a computer keyboard and mouse and the ability to dial, answer, and talk on a telephone. The employee is occasionally required to walk and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. This job requires the ability to occasionally work in stressful conditions and remain focused for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds; boxes, documents and/or other items.
