Duties
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with mental health and substance use disorders
- Assist in the development and implementation of treatment plans developed by the clinical team
- Monitor and document patient behaviors and progress
- Perform diagnostic assessments including diagnosing for both mental health and substance use disorders
- Conduct therapeutic activities, group sessions, and individual sessions
- Provide clinical supervision to CDCA/LCDC/CPRS/QMHS as needed
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients
Skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Experience in case management, counseling, and social work practices
- Experience with conducting diagnostic assessments for clients with both mental health and substance use disorders is preferred
- Familiarity with behavioral health interventions and therapies
- Proficiency in clinical terminology and documentation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and knowledge of de-escalation tactics
Education
- Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling.
- Active Ohio LISW or LPCC Required.
As a Mental Health Counselor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with mental health disorders. Your responsibilities will include providing direct care via group and individual sessions, assisting in treatment planning, monitoring patient progress, conducting therapeutic activities, and collaborating with and supervising other mental health and substance abuse treatment professionals. To excel in this role, you should have knowledge of HIPAA regulations, experience in case management and social work/counseling practices, proficiency in conducting diagnostic assessments and diagnosing, familiarity with behavioral health interventions, proficiency in clinical terminology and documentation, and strong communication skills. An active LPCC or LISW issued by the State of Ohio is required for this position.
