Broadway Respite and Home Care is looking for a dedicated and dependable Food Service Worker to join our team, where we prepare nutritious meals for adult day care clients. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both Russian and English, and will work alongside our chef to prepare ingredients, assemble dishes, and maintain a clean kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation
- Assist the chef in preparing ingredients, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits.
- Follow recipes to measure and mix ingredients accurately.
- Prepare and cook simple dishes according to standardized recipes.
- Plate meals attractively and ensure portion sizes are consistent.
Inventory and Stock Management
- Receive and properly store incoming food deliveries.
- Maintain organized stock using the FIFO method to ensure freshness.
- Record and manage food waste.
Kitchen Cleanliness and Sanitation
- Adhere to health and safety standards to maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
- Regularly clean and sanitize food preparation areas, equipment, and storage areas.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Fluent in both Russian and English.
- Food Handler’s Certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Previous experience in a food service or kitchen environment preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Capable of lifting and carrying heavy items and standing for extended periods.
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
Work Location: In-Person (Fair Lawn, NJ)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
