What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Payables Clerk position at Brock Cabinets?
Brock Cabinets is a family-owned and family-friendly regional cabinet and countertop supply company servicing the Carolinas. We are looking for an accounts payable clerk to fill a data entry position for a growing company.
Job and Responsibilities:
- Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
- Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
- Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
- Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal ID numbers, scheduling and preparing checks, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation.
- Ensures credit is received for outstanding memos.
- Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
- Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
- Protects organizations value by keeping information confidential.
- Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related tasks as needed.
Your primary task will be receiving vendor invoices in bulk and entering that data into the companys accounting software so we can pay our vendors, and in turn bill our customers, all of which you will be trained on.
This is a relaxed job setting where you will be given a lot of leeway to govern yourself, until you abuse such courtesies.
The work day begins at 8:00 a.m., and ends at 5:00 p.m., provided your work is being completed in a timely manner. Work-from-home, paid time off, and regular reviews/raises are possible following a 90-day probationary period.

Every day you will be staring at PDFs and Microsoft Excel spreadsheets with long sequences of alphanumeric codes. You must be able to quickly, but most importantly, accurately transcribe these from one document to the next.
You must be courteous and professional in person and through electronic communication with your co-workers, vendors, and customers.
You must be well groomed. This should be a given, but please shower every day. Your haircut/style are your business, as long as they are well kept. Tattoos and piercings are fine, as long as any visible ones are appropriate.
You will be prohibited from coming to work while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. You are also prohibited from using drugs or alcohol while at work.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
No experience necessary, but it certainly would be nice.
