RE: Graduate Course Instructors – Fitchburg State University/Brockton Public School Partnership
Funding is available through The Office of Professional Growth and School Improvement, to offer two graduate summer courses to BPS educators. BPS Instructors hired under this Job Ad must subsequently be able to obtain course approval from Fitchburg State University. We are seeking two qualified instructors to design, develop and teach graduate level courses. Courses must be taught in-person and must be equal to 3 graduate credits. Upon applying through School Spring, instructors will be chosen based on the content of the course proposal, the applicant’s demonstrated teaching experience in higher education, and Brockton Public Schools current needs. Please understand that if you are hired as an instructor you are employed by Brockton Public Schools and not Fitchburg State University.
Applicant School Spring Requirements:
•Applicants must include a course description when applying on School Spring.
•Applicants must include a basic outline of topics that will be covered throughout the course.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a Master's Degree
Demonstrated experience with college level teaching
At least five years working in a certified position in the Brockton Public Schools
Candidates must have the basic course content prepared and be ready to submit a proposal on School Spring when applying
(see above).
Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and experience in your course content area
Candidates must be prepared to partner with Fitchburg State University quickly, be open to feedback, and be ready to begin the
approval process through FSU.
Duties/Responsibilities:
To develop a graduate level course that considers Brockton Public Schools’ strategic plan, the district’s focus and the current
needs of the system.
To obtain course approval from Fitchburg State University. Courses must be developed and approved by FSU by May 30, 2025.
To coordinate with Keri Clark, the Director of Professional Growth and School Improvement, when planning the summer course
offering.
Compensation: $4,000 stipend – upon completion of the course and submission of the grades to FSU
