QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Experience teaching ESL to English learners at the high school level
2.Licensed in English as a second language by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
3.Strong background in English as a second language curriculum development and instruction for English learners at a variety of
proficiency levels
4.Understanding of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks for ELA and the WIDA 2020 standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1Review Current Curriculum: Analyze the existing scope, sequence, and pacing guides for iLit and English 3D, noting areas for
improvement based on teacher and student feedback.
2Identify Student Needs and Standards: Use data on student performance and language standards (WIDA, state standards) to
determine the required progression in language forms, features, and content standards.
3Customize Scope and Sequence: Adjust the curriculum’s scope and sequence to create a coherent progression that supports
targeted skill development aligned with identified standards and student needs.
4Revise Pacing Guide: Develop a pacing guide that reflects the customized scope and sequence, allowing adequate time for
mastery and flexible pacing based on student proficiency levels.
