Subject:School Nurse for the Summer School Literacy and Professional Learning (SSLP)- BPS Right to Read Summer Program
The Summer School Literacy and Professional Learning (SSLP) program is an innovative initiative that will integrate coursework and practicum experiences designed to support the development of structured literacy practices critical for addressing weaknesses in reading. This twofold program will support both students and teachers. Students in need of additional support with literacy in grades K-2 will receive targeted and evidence-based instruction from participating teachers; at the same time, those participating teachers will receive professional learning and coaching in evidence-based early literacy practices.
Qualifications
•MA DESE Licensed School Nurse or equivalent
•Currently serving as a School Nurse or Nurse’s Aide in the Brockton Public Schools
Responsibilities:
•Serve as on-site nurse for Right to Read program at the George School.
Program Dates: June 30, 2025-August 1, 2025 (No program July 4, 2025)
Site Supervisor Hours: Prework 5 hours (flexible times) 8:00 AM- 12:30 PM during the program dates.
Compensation: Summer Program & Pre-Work FY26 Contractual Rate (TBD)
Funding Source: Title I FY25
