Subject: School Adjustment Counselor for The Elementary April Vacation Math Acceleration Academy
An Acceleration Academy is a week-long academic program designed to accelerate student learning through engaging, standards-aligned lessons that meet the specific academic needs of students participating in the program. Students who attend an Academy receive the equivalent of approximately one extra month of learning in one week. The Brockton Public Schools has received a MA DESE grant to support an Acceleration Academy focused on math for students in grades 3-5.
Qualifications:
•MA DESE Licensed School Adjustment Counselor
•Currently serving as an adjustment counselor in a Brockton elementary school
Responsibilities:
•Provide positive behavioral and social emotional support to students during April Vacation Math Acceleration Academy
•Provide positive classroom management support to program teachers as needed
•Other duties as assigned by the Program Director
Program Dates and Times: During Program: April 22- April 25 7:30 AM- 3:00 PM
Compensation: Program- 30 hours total at the contractual per hour rate.
Funding Source: MA DESE Acceleration Academy Grant
