SUBJECT:SUPPORT STAFF for 2024-2025 21st Century After School Programs
(Angelo, Baker, Brookfield, Downey, Ashfield, East and South)
These positions are contingent upon grant funding and adequate student enrollment. The purpose of 21st CCLC grant programming is to support the implementation of additional learning time through out-of-school time (OST) programming. Programming is designed to help close proficiency/opportunity gaps, increase student engagement, support social and emotional learning, and promote college and career readiness and success. 21st Century Programs operate 32 weeks during the school year, Monday – Thursday for at least 2 hours each afternoon.
These positions are designed to provide the 21st Century programs with additional staff support. Supports provided could include clerical duties, small group instruction, parent phone calls, bus monitoring, short-term one-on-one student support, and other duties that help ensure the program’s smooth operation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Successful school-based experience working with elementary and/or middle school students
2.Excellent verbal and written communication skills
3.CPR/First Aid Certification required within 2 months of start
4.Experience with bilingual and/or SPED students preferred
5.Preference will be given to support staff working in a 21st Century program location (current locations: Angelo, Baker, South,
East, Ashfield, Downey & Brookfield)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Maintain a safe, structured snack time at the beginning of the program by meeting students in the
cafeteria and organizing the distribution of snacks provided by Chartwells
2.Flexibility regarding the district instructional models: remote, hybrid, and full face-to-face
teaching
3.Attend one 30 – minute meeting per week as needed
4.Assist with student homework and support teachers’ implementation of programs and activities
5.Interact with students to develop positive values and enhance self-esteem.
6.Work as a team with other staff members to create a safe and enriching learning environment
7.Utilize the SOMROLI payroll system to check in/out each shift and maintain record of work hours.
8.Serve as a bus monitor as needed
9.Other duties as deemed necessary by the site supervisor and the district coordinator
