Summary

We are seeking a Vice President of Finance to join our team at Brockton Visiting Nurse Association. This pivotal role will oversee all financial operations, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting while supporting our mission to deliver exceptional care in our communities.

POSITION SUMMARY: Plans, organizes, and directs the Finance Department of the Agency. Coordinates financial plans with Agency objectives and requirements; reports the financial condition of the Agency to Senior Management and the Board of Directors. Participates as a member of Senior Management team in setting goals, objectives and development of strategies. Adheres to all Agency policies including but not limited to the Confidentiality Agreement, Personnel Policies, and Finance Department Policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Works with the President, Board of Directors and Senior Management in setting goals and strategic objectives, consistent with organizational needs and priorities.

· Participates as a member of the Senior Management team, attending required meetings, assisting others in operational matters, providing financial data and perspective during the decision-making process.

· Provides President, Senior Managers, and Middle Managers with reports to support decision-making during the Strategic Planning process.

· Shares monthly financial statements with the President and Senior Management team as soon as they are completed.

· Presents monthly financial statements to the Finance Committee and the Board of Directors.

· Shares monthly financial statements with the Directors and Middle Managers at the Leadership Forum.

· Plans, organizes, coordinates, and directs all general fiscal, payroll, accounting, and third party reimbursement functions. Responsible for the development of the Agency’s annual operating budget, reporting monthly performance comparisons, capital budget, financial management, cost reporting, patient billing, accounting, and staff supervision.

· Work in collaboration with the investment committee to oversee portfolio oversight

· Works in close collaboration with the Senior Management Team and the Board of Directors to align operational strategies with program initiatives. Provides decision support, strategic financial planning and process improvement, utilizing statistics from software programs detailing productivity, overtime, time spent on admissions, visits, mileage, etc. Assures that all levels of volume/productivity/case mix are consistent with financial requirements and are accurate and consistent throughout all reports distributed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Directly supervises the Controller and the Revenue Manager. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Health Care Administration or equivalent preferred

· Requires five to ten years of progressive healthcare finance experience; home care experience preferred

· Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, cost accounting principles, PPS, episodic payment, Medicare/Medicaid patient billing and cost reporting, financial systems analysis, and budgetary analysis and control

· Self-starting, well organized, positive and outgoing

· Strong writing, team building and presentation skills

· Ability to motivate Managers and Staff

· Ability to think and act strategically and creatively

· Commitment to the mission and work of the Brockton VNA

· Adheres to all Agency policies, including but not limited to the Confidentiality Agreement, Personnel Policies and Finance Department Policies

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to establish professional relationships and to communicate effectively with staff, patients, families, co-workers, and others he/she interacts with in the course of job performance

Pay: From $70.00 per hour
