Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced 5-Axis CNC Router Programmer/Operator to program, set up, and operate advanced CNC routing equipment for the production of aerospace tooling. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC machining, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work with tight tolerances and complex geometries to meet stringent aerospace standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM files to develop CNC programs for 5-axis routing machines.
- Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using software such as Mastercam, Siemens NX, or similar platforms.
- Set up and operate 5-axis CNC routers, including tool selection, fixturing, and material loading.
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM) to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve programming, tooling, or machining issues to maintain production efficiency and quality.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Document production activities, including program changes and setup sheets.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience programming and operating 5-axis CNC routers, preferably in an aerospace or precision manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CNC programming software (e.g., Mastercam, CATIA, Siemens NX) and G-code/M-code.
- Medium level understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and ability to read blueprints.
- Experience working with aerospace materials such as Polyurethane and epoxy tooling boards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working with machinery and in a manufacturing setting.
