Job Description
The Marketing and Research Manager plays a key role in providing support to the Broken Arrow Economic Development Corporation (BAEDC) through strategic economic development, marketing, and research to foster wealth creation and job growth in the City of Broken Arrow.
This role involves planning, executing, and managing research projects, marketing campaigns, and content creation to support business attraction, retention, expansion, and workforce development. General responsibilities include generating research and developing materials to coordinate and implement projects and programs that promote commercial, office, and industrial development; facilitate small business initiatives; and support public facilities, infrastructure improvements, and redevelopment efforts.
By leading strategic marketing and research initiatives, the Marketing and Research Manager plays a key role in driving economic growth and positioning Broken Arrow as a thriving hub for business investment.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute marketing materials, presentations, newsletters, and reports to promote economic development initiatives.
- Manage social media, website content, and digital marketing strategies to enhance community engagement and outreach.
- Assist in the planning and execution of economic development events, forums, and promotional activities to foster business growth and networking.
- Maintain, analyze, and interpret economic and demographic data relevant to Broken Arrow’s business landscape.
- Conduct research and data analysis to support business attraction, retention, expansion, and workforce development efforts.
- Perform economic impact assessments and analysis for new project proposals to evaluate potential growth and investment benefits.
- Compile and analyze annual economic and business trend reports, providing recommendations for programs or policies to support business growth.
- Become proficient in economic data platforms and sources such as Costar, EDOiQ, Lightcast, Implan, and others as necessary.
- Prepare reports, proposals, and grant applications to secure funding and resources for economic development projects.
- Input, track, and manage all project-related data in the CRM, including company information, investment details, deadlines, and BAEDC action items.
- Support boards and committees by assisting with agendas, minutes, member rosters, and other administrative tasks, ensuring media updates on relevant meetings and projects.
- Maintain an updated inventory of available properties and development sites in Broken Arrow.
- Assist with special projects and additional job duties as assigned to support BAEDC’s mission and objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, Urban Planning, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in marketing, research, or economic development.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data visualization tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in digital marketing, social media management, and content creation.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, and marketing software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Experience in government, public-private partnerships, or economic development organizations.
- Knowledge of GIS mapping tools and business intelligence software.
Work Environment
- Office setting with occasional travel required for meetings, conferences, and community events.
- Flexibility to attend events outside of regular business hours as necessary.
- Must be able to stand and move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Must possess sight/hearing senses to adequately perform the functions of the job.
- May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- May be required to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
