Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Elementary Teacher to join our team and contribute to the growth and development of our students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in elementary education, a love for the outdoors, and a commitment to holistic child development. As an Elementary Teacher at our nature school, you will play a key role in creating a positive and engaging learning environment that integrates academic curriculum with hands-on outdoor experiences.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan and implement a dynamic and developmentally appropriate curriculum while incorporating outdoor and nature-based activities.
2. Foster a love of nature, curiosity, and exploration through experiential learning opportunities.
3. Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that values diversity and individual learning styles.
4. Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and collaboration.
5. Utilize the outdoor environment as a tool for teaching various subjects, including science, math, language arts, and social studies.
6. Implement a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
7. Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to support academic and social-emotional growth.
8. Organize and supervise outdoor activities, field trips, and nature-based projects.
9. Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate outdoor education across the curriculum.
10. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational trends.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field; relevant teaching certification.
2. Proven experience in elementary education
3. Passion for environmental education and a commitment to promoting sustainability.
4. Strong communication skills.
5. Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
6. Flexibility and adaptability to outdoor teaching environments.
7. First aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
