ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for assisting the Bar Manager with ordering and inventory management for bar stock, including managing the liquor and wine inventory.
- Develops cocktail menus, including costing and sales.
- Coaches FOH Bar staff to ensure quality and timeliness of service.
- Performs all typical bartending duties while always providing the highest level of customer service. This includes regularly covering complete day and night shifts as well as weekends and holidays. Verifies customers are 21 years of age.
- Assists with shift movement while abiding by the bartender and culinary CBA.
- Responds to all customer complaints or concerns in a timely and effective manner. Resolves any problems involving guest or bar employees, involving the Bar Manager or Key Manager if necessary.
- Trains and coaches all FOH and BOH employees on service standards and guest interactions in order to ensure the best customer experience.
- Assists the Bar Manager with sourcing and training staff to best fit the Bars’ needs. Assists in developing training programs, mentoring, scheduling, rewarding and disciplining staff, and completing performance reviews.
- Assist with scheduling staff in an efficient manner to best cover the demands of the business. Monitors that all scheduled staff have reported to work and makes schedule adjustments for proper coverage as needed.
- Builds good relationships with vendors to help forecast efficiently and effectively.
- Builds good relationships with the regulatory authorities such as DOG, Health Inspector, and Liquor Enforcement.
- Regular and reliable attendance is a fundamental requirement of this position. Employees are expected to be punctual and consistently present during their scheduled work hours to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the business.
- Attends frequent meetings with the Bar Manager and/or the Food & Beverage Director. Performs other duties, including special projects, as needed and directed.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Demonstrated hospitality & management experience, preferably in bars within a gaming environment. Demonstrated experience in dealing with employees related to bar operations. Demonstrated experience in managing employees. Demonstrated experience in performing under pressure, working with specific deadlines, and within a budget. Demonstrated experience with problem solving, organizing, and prioritizing work. Strong communication skills. Knowledge of POS systems.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: A Bachelor's degree in hospitality or an equivalent of three years of hospitality experience in a bar setting, preferably within the gaming industry. Three years of supervising experience within a bar setting.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Demonstrated effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills using English.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: A Colorado Limited Support Gaming License and TIPs certificate are required. Successful completion of Bloodborne Pathogens and hazardous material training.
OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES: Knowledge of various laws related to safety, workers compensation, employment and the Colorado Limited Gaming Act. Demonstrated knowledge of laws regarding liquor, gaming, and food safety.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Essential duties involve performing physical exertion, such as frequent brisk walking, climbing stairs, bending, stretching, reaching, pushing, kneeling, squatting, crouching, stooping and standing for an entire work shift with standard breaks. Essential duties may involve working in a small, confined area used to prepare beverages, with floors that may become slippery in the process. Essential duties require lifting trays, which contain drinks, and lifting up to 30 pounds to stack, store, or move bar or general office supplies and equipment. Essential duties involve a flexible work week with additional hours routinely required. Essential duties require a willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
$55,000 annually based on experience
