What are the responsibilities and job description for the Steward I & II position at Bronco Billy's Casino?
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain all aspects of the Stewarding Department.
- Assist the Chief Steward with the maintenance and upkeep of all kitchens on property or at off-site events, as assigned.
- Work to ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas to include walk-in coolers, floors, walls, rolling equipment, small wares, china, glass, and silverware.
- Clean exterior of all kitchen exhaust hoods, filters, and banquet equipment, including queen marries and hot boxes.
- Perform bi-monthly deep cleans of each food preparation area to ensure total cleanliness and sanitation.
- Ensure that all china, glass, silverware, ice glows, serving trays, etc. are organized and prepared prior to all banquet functions. Ensures they are cleaned and put back after the event.
- Update inventory and inform the Chief Steward on quantities of china, glassware, and flatware.
- Ensure dilution ratios and dispensing units are kept in working order.
- Communicate daily with the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef, Banquet Manager, and/or Chief Steward to provide an update regarding Steward Operations.
- Perform all duties in compliance with all safety standards, health standards, internal policies and procedures, and in compliance with the Colorado Limited Gaming Act.
- Regular and reliable attendance is a fundamental requirement of this position. Employees are expected to be punctual and consistently present during their scheduled work hours to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the business.
- Comply with established security policies and procedures and follows established security protocols to ensure the restaurant environment is safe at all times.
- Ensure all cleaning is thorough and complete at the end of each shift as directed.
- Perform other duties, including special projects, as needed and directed.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Demonstrated experience working in a restaurant environment and maintaining a clean and safe work area. Demonstrated experience performing within specific deadlines or under pressure. Demonstrated experience problem solving, organizing, and prioritizing work.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school or equivalent. One (1) or more years working as a Banquet Steward or similar position is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Successful completion of Bloodborne Pathogens and hazardous material training.
OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES: Demonstrated knowledge and ability to enforce 4-star standards.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Essential duties involve performing physical exertion, including frequent brisk walking, climbing stairs, bending, stretching, reaching, pushing, kneeling, squatting, crouching, and standing for an entire work shift with standard breaks. Essential duties require lifting trays, plates, pots, pans, and other cooking utensils which may contain food. Essential duties include lifting up to 30 pounds to stack, store, or move kitchen, restaurant, or general office supplies and equipment. Essential duties involve a flexible workweek with additional hours routinely required.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
$15.50 per hour based on experience
