What are the responsibilities and job description for the Board Certified Behavioral Analyst position at Bronson Behavioral Health Hospital?
- Utilize a variety of assessment tools which may include the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program and Adaptive Behavior Assessment System, to write operationally defined goals and objectives.
- Treat problem behavior with a function-based approach, utilizing teaching procedures based in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
- Consistently and frequently analyze data on treatment goals and adjust teaching procedures and intervention strategies according to data, collecting functional assessment data when appropriate.
- Involve the family in treatment by meeting with parents/guardians consistently providing consultations and/or providing training sessions as needed and ensuring treatment plans include parent goals.
- Train staff and other professionals to implement ABA treatment plans.
- Assess the patient’s treatment needs and write detailed goals and objectives for each patient’s treatment plan so that progress may be tracked and measured.
- Work closely with the interdisciplinary team to facilitate the optimum behavior plan.
- Oversee implementation of programming, data collection, and procedural fidelity of Registered Behavior Technicians and Behavior Technicians.
- Maintain and complete reports and session/supervision notes.
- Conduct appropriate assessments which may include ADOS and other specific assessments in a timely manner.
- Create programming procedures and materials and complete all necessary documentation requirements timely.
- Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolved complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Certification by the Behavior Analyst certification Board required.
- Master’s degree in special education, psychology, or related field, with specialized knowledge of behavioral health and treatment philosophies and professional practices.
- Three years’ experience working with individuals who have autism spectrum disorders preferred.
- Prior experience with ABA programming required.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Certification/Licensure as required by state.
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
- First aid may be required based on state or facility.
