Job Description

Job Title : Medical Technologist

Job Specialty : Core Laboratory

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Night; 4x10-Hour (20 : 15 - 07 : 00) and 3x12-Hour (20 : 15 - 07 : 00)

Guaranteed Hours : 72 hours per 2 weeks

Experience : Minimum 2 years of experience required

License : Valid Michigan license required

Certifications : ASCP, AMT or equivalent credential

Must-Have : Experience with Roche Cobas 6000 and 311, Sysmex XN2000, Sysmex Novus / UF5000, Cepheid Genexpert, Siemens RapidPoint 500

Job Description :

• Perform clinical laboratory testing, including pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes.
• Execute and evaluate quality control and quality assurance procedures.
• Operate and perform basic computer programs for documentation and record-keeping.
• Anticipate and maintain inventory to ensure uninterrupted testing.
• Communicate effectively at all levels inside and outside the organization.
• Follow all established laboratory policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate responsibility for instrument operation and preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and take action to resolve them.
• Document and report as required by regulatory agencies.
• Perform, validate, interpret, and report laboratory test results.
• Participate in internal and external proficiency testing.
• Identify and resolve problems that may adversely affect results.
• Work under specific time constraints.
• Wear navy blue scrubs as part of the dress code.
• Work every other weekend and holidays as needed.
• Complete mandatory 8 hours of non-billable orientation and modules.
