We are currently searching for a Master Technician who will be performing maintenance on company assets, overhauls major and minor components and installs replacements. The position also
conducts quality inspections and electrical, hydraulic and computer diagnostics.
Core Responsibilities :
May be required to drive a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) not to exceed 26,000 pounds.
Perform preventative maintenance or repairs on company assets according to work pending reports, vehicle condition reports, preventative maintenance schedules and the direction of the maintenance staff.
Document repair operations and time-tracking in accordance with company procedures.
Requisition parts as necessary.
Perform failure analysis and reporting findings to maintenance management.
Maintain service truck readiness including safety equipment, tools, equipment, and cleanliness.
Diagnose and triage assets and prioritize repairs.
Assign work as need according to technician skills.
Assist co-workers with diagnostics and repairs.
Train new hires on the proper processes of repairs.
Conduct quality checks on repairs made by co-workers.
Conduct technical inspections and document findings.
Participate in root cause analysis on rework and faulty parts.
Assist with accident investigations and root cause analyses.
Maintain repair order documentation to include repair description, parts used, and repair times.
Perform monthly inventories as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications Skills :
Expert knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations, including but not limited to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Effective time management skills
Leadership and training skills
Ability to complete technical repairs to engines, transmission, differential, and after treatment systems
Ability to pay attention to detail and remain alert to ensure safety
Ability to understand and follow instructions and to communicate with co- workers
Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications :
At least three years of heavy truck or equipment maintenance experience including experience performing maintenance on Class 8 trucks and heavy equipment
At least five years of heavy truck or equipment maintenance experience at a Technician III level
Must possess own tools
Experience diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, engine cooling, air conditioning, and engine and transmission systems for heavy equipment
Proficient with shop equipment and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) diagnostic software such as : Tech tool, Cummins Insite, Allison Doc, Bendix, etc.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications :
High school diploma or its equivalent
ASE Master Technician Certified
Class B commercial driver's license
Record of safe driving for the last five years as shown on current MVR, with no serious accidents or traffic violations
OEM Master Tech certifications
Required Licenses & Certifications :
Valid Class C driver's license
Record of safe driving for the last three years as shown on current MVR, with no serious accidents or traffic violations
Compensation :
Pay ranges from $30 / hr to $50 / hr depending on the number of years of experience and scheduled shift. Hiring for all shifts!
