Countertop Field Measurement Technician - Templator

Job Type : Full-time | Position Type : Entry-Level, Temp-to-Hire

Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 30 PM

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and professional Countertop Field Measurement Technician - Templator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately measuring and templating kitchen countertops, vanities, bars, and fireplaces using a laser-based templating system . As the face of the company , you will interact directly with customers, ensuring that all project details are documented accurately and communicated effectively to the fabrication team.

This position offers flexibility-you will work directly from your home and job sites without needing to report to the shop daily. A company vehicle will be provided for travel to customer locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel daily to customer job sites from your home to perform field measurements.
  • Explain the templating process to customers and review project details with them.
  • Assess job site readiness, ensuring cabinets are level, sinks and appliances are available, and all required specifications are met.
  • Use a laser-based templating system (LT 2D-3D, Prodim Proliner, or similar) to create precise digital templates.
  • Verify measurements using a tape measure and note any installation concerns or challenges.
  • Provide professional recommendations to customers on installation best practices when necessary.
  • Upload DXF files and template details into the company's job tracking system.
  • Take job site photos for reference by the fabrication and installation teams.
  • Communicate any project issues or concerns with the office to ensure smooth processing.
  • Attend required meetings and contribute to ongoing training and team collaboration.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.
  • Experience with digital templating systems (e.g., LT 2D-3D, Prodim Proliner) is a plus but not required-training provided!

    • Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification is a plus.
  • 1-2 years of experience in countertop templating, fabrication, or installation preferred.
  • Experience in home remodeling, construction, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Basic proficiency in reading blueprints, measuring, and using hand / power tools.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check for Home Depot and Lowe's badges .
  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs.

    • Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Work is performed primarily at customer job sites with travel required.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
  • Exposure to construction environments, including dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.
