Currently, we are searching for a Route Sales Rep in Houston with experience in the tool / construction / building products industry. Our client is a distributor and developer of stone fabrication tools and supplies (diamond products, abrasives, adhesive, PPE, etc). The company's product lines include over 18,000 SKUs across multiple branded products and price points.
Your job will be to drive a "Warehouse On Wheels" (custom van) to various shops in the area and sell their products to shop owners, shop managers, and other shop employees. You'll have the opportunity to essentially run your own business under their umbrella, set your own schedule, and make what you want to make.
We are looking at 2 major profiles for this position :
1) A product expert with experience selling and / or working with stone fabrication tools
2) An experienced Territory Sales Rep with experience in route / outside product sales.
This will be a new territory, so much of the job will involve new business development versusmeaning there is tons of room to grow and future leadership opportunities for successful a rep!
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Drive around the Houston, TX area in a van full of inventory selling stone fabrication tools.
- You'll have set routes for efficiency and will stop at each shop regularly (12-15 customers a day) drive up to a shop, shop guys will come to the truck and buy what they need, then you'll head inside and meet with management to consult and see what else you could help with
- Load and unload your van weekly and maintain necessary inventory (including special requests from customers).
- Spend minimal time researching shops in your territory to add new customers and increase your territory sales / commission.
