Position Summary :
The ASP STEM Activity Specialist is responsible for designing and leading hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) activities that promote critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving among elementary school participants.
Key Responsibilities :
Program Planning :
- Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate STEM activities that align with the interests and skill levels of elementary school participants, focusing on areas such as robotics, coding, engineering challenges, and scientific experiments.
- Activity Leadership :
Lead and supervise daily STEM activities, providing clear instructions and guidance to ensure participants understand the concepts and processes involved.
Teach participants essential STEM skills, encouraging curiosity, collaboration, and innovative thinking. Help participants learn how to apply scientific and mathematical concepts to real-world problems.
Monitor participants during activities to ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment. Address any behavior or safety concerns promptly.
Oversee the use and maintenance of STEM materials and equipment, ensuring they are properly organized and safe for participant use.
Foster a supportive and encouraging atmosphere that allows participants to explore STEM concepts, ask questions, and take creative risks without fear of failure.
Provide constructive feedback to participants throughout the program, helping them refine their projects and build confidence in their skills.
