BronxCare Health System, a major teaching hospital and health system, now has an excellent opportunity for an Academic Inpatient Psychiatry Unit Chief in its Department of Psychiatry. Responsibilities include managing the daily operations of an Adult Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit, leading interdisciplinary teams, participating in behavioral and medical codes, evaluating academic activities for residents and medical students, and providing direct patient care. Monitoring length of stay, providing clinical consultations, evaluating the need for psychiatric assessments and other components of aftercare, and participating in Performance Improvement, Quality Assurance, Risk Management, and Regulatory activities are also essential to this position.
Qualified candidates must have board eligibility or certification in Psychiatry, residency training from an Accredited Psychiatry Program, a medical degree and New York State license.
We offer a competitive salary of $270,000 (based on a 40-hour work week), a projected bonus of up to $30,000 (contingent on meeting quality and productivity targets), and comprehensive benefits.
