Overview
Performs and obtains high quality, high resolution imaging with adequate shielding and collimation (ALARA) essential for fluoroscopic guidance on all patients (i.e. In-Patients, ED Patients & Out Patients); patient positioning and preparation. Provide technical support to cardiac cath as needed
Responsibilities
-Ability to perform complex angle (e.g. anterior posterior (AP) lateral or obliqueviews which is often necessary during fluoroscopically guided procedures to ensure proper needle placement.
-Assists the Interventional Radiologist in positioning patient for image-guided percutaneous procedures.
-Responsible for obtaining imaging data in a manner prescribed by the interventional radiologist.
-Familiarity with fluoroscopic and radiographic equipment and other imagingsystems.
Qualifications
-Two (2) years experience as an X-ray Technologist and minimally one (1) year experience working in an Interventional Radiology (special procedures) setting.
-New York State License as an X-ray Technologist, certification to inject per the requirements of section 89.40 of part 89.
-American Registry Radiologic Technologist (ARRT Registered).
-NYS Dept of Health (BERP) Certification to Inject Contrast.
-Basic Life Support (American Heart Association).
