Purpose of Position:
We are looking for a candidate who has a passion for retail merchandising. Someone who strives to make the Adventure Retail look fantastic each day. The right candidate will take the lead on all general managing and merchandising responsibilities for the store.
The Manager is responsible for effectively and efficiently managing the visual appearance of the store and ensures the highest level of service to meet expectations of Club members. Performs all work in accordance with essential functions and responsibilities as described below and in the spirit of the Club’s mission and vision.
Projected Work Schedule:
This position is a great opportunity for someone looking for (seasonal or year-round) work with the ability to have a lighter winter season and a busier summer. Must be available for a full-time work schedule during days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Average hours worked each week to be approximately 40-50 hours in the summer and 30-40 in the winter.
Experience Required
Qualifications:
- Knowledgeable of industry standards and high-end quality apparel
- Polished and professional in manner and appearance; charismatic and personable
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Computer skills (Excel, Word, POS System, etc)
- High attention to detail and great organizational skills
- Ability to anticipate and skilled in multi-tasking at a high level
- Ability to work well with others and adapt to new situations
- Familiarity with club operations
Experience/Education:
- Bachelors or Associates degree in retail apparel merchandising or equivalent experience
- Two to five years’ experience in retail apparel merchandising
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Work tasks are performed mainly indoors
- Requires frequent bending, reaching, stooping, pushing, and pulling, intervals of walking, standing, and sitting during the day
- Requires communicating effectively with members, guests, co-workers, and supervisor
- Must be able to lift and transport up to 20-50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment such as steamer, box openers, paper cutters, etc.
Essential Responsibilities
Duties shall include but not be limited to:
- Promotes/sells merchandise in a professional, informative, friendly manner. Provides premier customer service to our members and their guests and is the point person for all soft goods information. Works to ensure member satisfaction and creates an inviting shopping environment.
- Merchandises and promotes product through creative and attractive displays. Rotates merchandise displays daily, and in-shop inventory as needed, and logs all changes. Analyzes sales to identify how different displays correlate to sales. Ensures stores merchandise appearance is always impeccable.
- Work with the Luxury Store Buyer on a regular bases and cultivate a strong cohesive relationship.
- Lead coordination of special orders. Works with members, maintains log, places order, follows up with customers, and properly receives merchandise.
- Stays abreast of industry trends and works with vendors to be knowledgeable of product details, performance, origin, and pricing. Trains supportive staff on product and sales techniques.
- Ships and tracks product as necessary.
- Marketing and promotion of product to members and guests.
- Performs other duties as designated by General Manager.
