Job Summary
The Shift Supervisor plays a key role in the store's management team, overseeing store personnel and providing training and coaching to associates. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
Responsibilities
- Supervise store personnel and provide training and coaching to associates
- Model how to greet and assist donors/customers
- Address complaints/challenges from the team and maintain a positive work atmosphere
- Oversee overall merchandising, floor maintenance, appearance, and cleanliness of the store
- Lend support to management for sales floor, cashiers, and administrative functions
- Verify and document all cash management activities
- Meet customer needs with a smiling face and handle all customer questions and concerns
- Ensure company records are completed, organized, retained, and safeguarded
- Create a teamwork atmosphere throughout the store and deal with performance concerns promptly and fairly
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with high level of diplomacy
- Above average written and oral communication skills
- Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multitask while working on a team or independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to identify opportunities, recommend solutions, make or influence decisions
- Physical ability to lift up to 10 pounds, push and pull 4-6 pounds, stand 80% of the time, and perform other physical duties
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, communicate with floor supervisors and co-workers, meet deadlines, and adhere to company attendance requirements
- Certification on packing machine and/or forklift
- Ability to speak conversational English
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Experience: 1 year of supervisor experience; 2 years in retail management preferred
