Position Summary

The Director of Sales will assume a dual responsibility within the organization, dedicating 50% of their time to actively driving sales and generating revenue through direct engagement with key clients. The other 50% will be focused on leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing sales team to ensure consistent achievement of sales goals. In this role, the Director will play an integral part in shaping the sales strategy, fostering a culture of excellence, and driving both personal and team performance in alignment with company growth objectives.

As a key member of the Sales Team, the Director of Sales will be responsible for effectively planning, organizing, and executing sales-related activities to meet individual and team targets. They will work to understand and promote Brook Whittle's profit objectives while ensuring that customer satisfaction is at the heart of every decision and interaction. This role is vital requires a balance of tactical sales execution with strategic leadership to foster success at every level.

Essential Functions

Sales Leadership (50%) :

  • Develop and execute a personal sales strategy to target and acquire new clients, grow existing accounts, and expand business opportunities in support of Brook Wittle company revenue goals..
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers within client organizations.
  • Understand customer needs and deliver tailored solutions to meet those needs, demonstrating a consultative approach to sales.
  • Lead sales presentations, negotiations, and contract discussions with high-value clients.
  • Achieve personal sales targets and KPIs, ensuring alignment with company revenue goals.

Team Management and Development (50%) :

Work with VP Sales and Sales Representatives to :

  • Establish territory sales objectives, goals, and targets, which address sales volume, profitability, new business, and new Customer potential.
  • Use Salesforce.Com as one of your daily management tools, in addition to enforcing the use of Salesforce.com with your direct reports.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of existing and planned sales strategies, and devise and execute corrective action when and where necessary.
  • Assist in the preparation of sales budgets; determine staffing requirements and sales personnel training and development needs.
  • Conduct and participate in sales meetings as necessary or appropriate.
  • Participate in team sales presentations when necessary or appropriate.
  • Work proactively with customers to develop and maintain relationships
  • Work collaboratively and proactively with assigned Sales Representatives.
  • Coach, counsel and develop assigned salespeople to exceed their annual territory sales goal.
  • Ensure sales staff meets profitability objectives. Utilize value-add solutions to meet Customer needs.
  • Direct and monitor assigned Salespeople's' development of expert product knowledge and ability to deliver polished, professional, well-conceived sales presentations to Customers.
  • Teach assigned Salespeople to promote the value-add benefits of Brook Whittle products and services.
  • Develop and service existing account relationships. Initiate regular field sales calls within each territory.
  • Prepare and deliver necessary account analysis and sales reports, as appropriate and / or requested by VP Sales, in an insightful, timely and accurate manner.
  • Routinely measure and address attrition figures.
  • Collaborate with HR and other departments to recruit, onboard, and retain top sales talent.
  • Work collaboratively with Customer Service to :

  • Maintain ongoing communications and serve as a resource for Customer specific knowledge regarding customer needs, expectations, and problem avoidance.
  • Participate in the process that ensures all orders are produced with the highest possible quality, and shipped quickly and accurately, and exceed and / or meet all Customer expectations.
  • Contribute to and participate in Customer Service training that addresses Sales issues.
  • Participate in company projects and activities as identified and assigned.
  • Adhere expense guidelines.

  • Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent relevant sales experience management
  • A thorough knowledge of our industry including competitive practices
  • A minimum of four years outside sales experience selling in the pressure sensitive or shrink sleeve market
  • Proficiency in SaleForce.com, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

    100-110k Base plus commission / bonus
