Description :
The Label Engineer position is responsible for supporting projects within the Technical Development department related to new product development, research & development / innovation, and technical services. This role will be fundamental in supporting both internal and external customers, to drive lower manufacturing costs, increased operating efficiencies, and greater customer satisfaction.
Label Engineer Essential Functions
- Supports internal Technical Development department efforts to meet goals to reduce manufacturing costs at the Hamilton location.
- Assists sales or customer service staff in supporting customer questions surrounding material selection, or performance.
- Leads and facilitates internal technical troubleshooting efforts with the B W manufacturing teams when needed.
- Develops standard operating procedures, establishes best manufacturing practices, and serves as the site technical expert for all printing and finishing equipment.
- Supports validation and developmental related trials at various external customer sites, as well as internal B W sites.
- Performs material testing and collects related data to facilitate B W process control efforts.
- Leads successful onboarding and development of new projects for existing or prospective customers.
- Makes material and spec recommendations for products based on their specific application method, packaging decoration selection, and core product type (food, beverage, homecare, etc.).
- All other duties as assigned by management.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are 8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM, 40 hours per week (1 hour lunch break per day). Occasional work outside of these hours may be required as job duties demand.
