  • Position : MRI Technologist
  • Job Type : Contract (3 months)
  • Schedule : Monday - Friday, (40-hour work week) / 8-hour days varying from 6 : 30am – 8pm
  • Location : Hartford, CT area
  • Salary : $55 - $80 per hour (DOE)

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-quality MRI scans for orthopedic patients
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout procedures
  • Collaborate with a team of renowned orthopedic specialists
  • Assist in the diagnosis of various musculoskeletal conditions
  • Experience with Siemens & Fuji MRI machines (preferred)
  • Qualifications

  • Valid Connecticut MRI Technician license and ARRT registration
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as an MRI Technologist
  • Strong knowledge of orthopedic and musculoskeletal imaging
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

    Responsibilities :

  • Prepare and position patients for MRI scans of various body parts, including setting up necessary equipment and ensuring optimal positioning for best imaging results.
  • Conduct thorough safety screenings for patients and personnel to prevent ferromagnetic objects from entering the scan room.
  • Select and implement appropriate pulse sequences based on established protocols, accurately recording all procedures.
  • Evaluate scan quality and completeness, manipulating images as needed for physician review.
  • Process and quality check images, ensuring proper contrast and display format.
  • Manage image transfer to PACS system, verifying exam completeness in a timely manner.
  • Perform daily equipment quality assurance tests and monitor cryogen levels.
  • Report and document system issues promptly to appropriate personnel.
  • Provide attentive patient care, addressing physical and psychological needs.
  • Administer IV contrast when required, monitoring for potential reactions.
  • Maintain a hygienic scan room environment and practice universal precautions.
  • Assist in patient transfers as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Professional Experience / Educational Requirements :

  • Graduate of an approved two-year radiology program.
  • Valid Connecticut X-Ray / MRI Technician license and ARRT registration.
  • Minimum two years' experience as an MRI Technologist preferred.
  • Orthopedic and / or neurological experience preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
