Overview
The College seeks to build a pool of qualified applicants to teach CINE 105 Film Appreciation. CINE 105 provides students with a foundational understanding of film theory, history, and filmmaking techniques. This is a non-production, theoretical course. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in film studies, effective communication skills, commitment to student success and the ability to foster an inclusive and interactive learning environment.Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lectures that cover film history, theory, and analysis.
- Facilitate discussions to aide in understanding of course concepts.
- Assign and grade writing assignments and exams to assess student understanding.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback and support to help students succeed academically.
- Cultivate an inclusive classroom environment that values diverse perspectives and promotes respectful dialogue.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Master’s degree in Film Studies, Media Studies, Communication, or a related field.
- Prior teaching experience, especially at the college level, is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications & Special Considerations:
- Strong need for daytime classes, limited evening sessions available. Morning, afternoon, evening and weekend courses may be available in Lincroft, Western Monmouth and Higher Education Centers.
- Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities.
