SKILLED NURSING BILLING SPECIALIST
Daily census reconciliation including LOAs/discharges/room changes/payer changes in PCC
- Complete new admission accounts and follow them through the QA process
- Insurance Verification: Medicare, Managed Care, Commercial & Medicaid
- Insurance Re-verification: Medicare, Managed Care, Commercial & Medicaid
- Knowledgeable of key components of the commercial/Medicare Advantage agreements
- Partners with the Central Billing Office to resolve claim and QA issues
- Claim generation for Medicare, Managed Medicare, Commercial & Medicaid
- Obtain exclusions and carve-out authorizations after admission as applicable
- Private pay billing and collections
- High interaction with residents relating to billing questions and benefits
- Long Term Care insurance paperwork completion for residents
- Month End Close – Enter ancillary charges, reconcile census, and complete close process
- Consolidated billing
- Reports to Director of Financial Services
- Provides clerical support as directed
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High critical thinking ability
- Detail oriented
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- MS Excel experience required
- Knowledge of general ledger, expense control, AP/AR
- Point Click Care (PCC) experience highly desirable
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year of medical billing experience; skilled nursing experience a plus

Qualifications
Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and previous experience in bookkeeping or entry level accounting required.

Has a basic knowledge of the organization in order to answer basic questions. Has effective oral and written communication skills and a thorough knowledge of computer software.
