Job Description
Director, Business Technology
The Director, Business Technology, will ensure that the strategy and delivery of system solutions within our portfolio companies enable the growth ambitions across our group. The successful candidate will be a savvy business partner with an IT background capable of ensuring operational processes are in place to support technology services, information security, and due diligence activities consistently across our portfolio management companies.
Accountabilities
- Collaborate with Brookfield and Portfolio Company stakeholders to manage IT-related risks and ensure overall security of information and technology across all portfolio companies on a global scale.
- Identify and provide guidance to realize value-creation opportunities leveraging technology across portfolio companies and at Brookfield.
- Manage and support the global IT and Cybersecurity vendor program, including onboarding new vendors, maintaining contracts, and processing invoices.
- Track and analyze cybersecurity and project update reports including reporting on security/cybersecurity risks and monitoring trends and impact to the portfolio companies.
- Offer guidance and resolution on issues that affect portfolio companies.
- Provide guidance and technical advisory services to portfolio companies globally in technology projects, strategies, and roadmaps.
- Manage and administer Brookfield Portfolio Company portal to ensure up-to-date content, design, site navigation, and monitor user-generated contents and work collaboratively to ensure cybersecurity.
- Develop and maintain processes, standards, and governance for IT portfolio management.
- Ensure that portfolio companies are compliant with Brookfield programs and industry standards and leverage Brookfield enterprise agreements and corporate standards where appropriate.
Skills & Qualifications
This position offers an opportunity for growth within the Infrastructure team and wider Brookfield Asset Management group. To qualify, candidates must have:
- 7 - 10 years’ IT experience in supporting and delivering complex enterprise environments
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Technology
- Exceptional technical competency in IT Applications, IT Infrastructure, IT Operations and cybersecurity
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, cyber risks, and practical remediation activities and solutions
- Must be able to effectively work with IT technical experts and CxOs to document, analyze and recommend technology solutions to deliver business profitability and effectiveness
- Must have strong business and consultative skills to advise executives making long-term business to deliver overall business success
- Experience in delivering through managing and overseeing third-party service providers and business & commercial governance
- Must have strong awareness and experience in IT audit and compliance management
- Effective project management skills to see successful projects through to completion
- Must be able to demonstrate leadership ability and initiative, where independent thinking and action is a constant
- Must have excellent written and oral communication business skills to communicate with all levels including senior executives
- Must thrive in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced environment and be able to adapt quickly and manage changing priorities
