The Head of Content Strategy is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with business objectives, enhances brand presence, and engages target audiences. This role requires a blend of creativity, analytical thinking, and leadership to drive content initiatives across multiple regional audiences and channels, including digital, social media, and traditional marketing platforms.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning: Work with marketing and leadership across asset classes and the client group to develop and implement a content strategy that aligns with business goals, fundraising goals, audience needs, and industry trends.
Manage content planning, production, calendar & workflow: Oversee editorial planning, project briefs, deadlines, process and production schedules to ensure timely publishing of all materials.
- Supervise the creation of high-quality, engaging, and relevant content for various channels, including whitepapers, articles, blogs, videos, social media, emails, and event-related presentations.
- Supervise the creation of all fund-related content including fact sheets, pitchbooks, elevator pitches, Q&As, case studies, and asset videos.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Launch and lead the firm’s Content Committee to enhance the governance over design, prioritization, review, production and distribution of content. Work closely with marketing, investments, design, and sales teams to ensure content supports broader business objectives.
Distribution & Optimization: Oversee timely posting and delivery of content across relevant internal and external platforms including internal content library, video library, investor portals, and public website. Communicate proactively with business and sales partners to maximize awareness and usage of materials. Collaborate with digital and marketing teams to optimize content for search visibility and performance.
Reporting & Analytics: Track competitor strategies, measure content performance across the media mix, track and assess audience engagement across regions and channels; proactively communicate and report to internal partners and use learnings to inform and refine the firm’s content strategy.
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of content managers, writers and content creators; utilize freelancers as needed.
Compliance: ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory guidelines as well as firm standards for branding and tone.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 10 years of experience in editorial leadership roles in financial media/publishing or asset management
- Strong grasp of the capital markets including alternative investments, institutional and wealth market segments
- Excellent written and verbal communication, editing and storytelling skills
- Strong ability to manage people, process and projects
- Ability to build strong relationships and influence individuals at multiple levels throughout the organization
- Experience working across multiple print and digital mediums and working with multi-channel content distribution.
- Proficiency in content management systems (CMS), SEO tools, and analytics platforms, including AI-driven and content automation tools
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Journalism, Communications, English or related field
Salary Range: $300,000 - $350,000
Our compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive. Compensation decisions are based on a number of factors including relative experience, overall years of experience, industry experience, education, and designations.
