Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wind Technician to join our team at Brookfield Renewable. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the planning and oversight of wind assets, including troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and operation of wind turbine generation systems.
Responsibilities:
- Execute all mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component maintenance on wind turbine platforms.
- Perform complex troubleshooting, including PLC systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical systems.
- Repair and replace components associated with multiple wind turbine platforms.
- Travel and assist remote assets as needed.
- Participate in rotating On Call shifts as required.
Qualifications:
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on variable pitch, variable speed wind turbines.
- Able to climb multiple towers per day up to 100 meters unassisted, in various weather conditions.
- Able to lift, move, place, and/or handle objects up to 50lbs unassisted and up to 100lbs assisted.
- Able to work with and differentiate between color-coded electrical wires.
- Able to complete all Brookfield HSSE requirements within 3 months of onboarding.
