This Staff Accountant assists in preparation and communication of the operating and financial results for the Division. This position is responsible recording the daily activities such as cash management (recording deposits, bank reconciliations), accounts receivable, sales transactions, inventory lot tracking and cost of sales. This role interacts closely with Sr. Accountant and with multiple departments and supports the business as necessary.

Job Description
This Staff Accountant assists in preparation and communication of the operating and financial results for the Division. This position is responsible recording the daily activities such as cash management (recording deposits, bank reconciliations), accounts receivable, sales transactions, inventory lot tracking and cost of sales. This role interacts closely with Sr. Accountant and with multiple departments and supports the business as necessary.
Key Deliverables
The Staff Accountant interacts with multiple departments and gathers information to ensure accurate system reporting. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare financials that can include month-end, quarter-end and year-end working papers, including supporting financial and operational statements, and preliminary variance analysis.
- Prepare quarterly and year-end reporting packages for the corporate partners.
- Reconcile, produce and distribute the following reports: Retention, XL, Municipal Utility District (MUD), Revenue from Vena and Tochi for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Bank Reconciliations, deposits, recording of routine journal entries
- Assistance during quarter end, month end, and other timelines to meet specific deliverables.
- Record lot sales and cost of sales entries.
- Maintaining the General Ledger, Balance Sheet Reconciliations while upholding accuracy and deadlines.
- Attends various department and interdepartmental meetings to obtain information for reporting and to provide information to other departments.
- Special projects as assigned include contributing to one-time assignments, participating in software enhancements, audit assistance, and supporting co-workers during periods of high volume or transition.
- Prepares ad hoc analysis, as required
- A bachelor’s degree required, along with 2 - 3 years of relevant experience (preferred).
- Strong knowledge and experience of basic accounting principles and computerized accounting systems.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as within a team environment.
