What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Swim Program Coordinator position at Brookhaven Country Day camp?
The Pool Director is responsible for overseeing our entire swim program during both free swim and instructional swim periods. The pool Director will oversee and supervise the entire lifeguard staff. He/She will report directly to one of the Camp directors
Duties
- Develop and implement camp swim program that align with the camp's goals for swim development.
- Supervise and train camp staff, to assist in every camper's progress.
- Maintain a safe environment by enforcing safety protocols absolutely necessary at pool setting.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make adjustments as necessary to improve camper development.
Requirements
Must possess all necessary certifications as required by the Suffolk County Department of Health, the regulator for all camps in Suffolk County
Experience working with children in a swimming program and preferably a camp
- Strong skills in behavior management to effectively handle various situations that may arise.
- Ability to create engaging and effective activities that cater to every child's swimming ability.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with campers, parents, and staff.
