Starting pay $15.00 per hour, salary commensurate with education and experience. Full-time evening and night shifts available. Shift Differential Pay! $1,000 SIGN-ON BONUS FOR DAY AND NIGHT SHIFT! $1,500 SIGN-ON BONUS FOR EVENING SHIFT!

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Patient Care Technician interested in working within a supportive nursing team environment? Join our team as a Mental Health Technician (MHT) at Brookhaven Hospital and play a vital role in providing high-quality care and making a difference in the lives of our patients. Brookhaven Hospital specializes in the rehabilitation of adults with neurologic disorders such as acquired brain injury (ABI).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Works closely with registered nurses (RNs), certified nursing assistants (CNAs), therapists, and other healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive care to patients
Assists patients with basic care patient care activities, but not limited to bathing, grooming, toileting, and ambulation
Provides assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) and helps patients maintain independence
Takes and records vital signs accurately, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate, and respiratory rate
Performs routine tasks such as changing bed linens, stocking supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized patient environment
Collaborates with nursing staff and other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care
Maintains accurate and up-to-date records and documentation of patient care provided
Participates in treatment group processes for patients as assigned
Maintains a safe environment for patients, families, staff and visitors

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required

Minimum of one (1) year of direct care experience in a healthcare setting, working with patients with adult patients with physical or mental disabilities or rehabilitation needs

Must be able to work rotating weekend shifts

Ability to pass state and federal background checks, pre-employment physical and drug screen are required

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment

PHYSICAL CAPABILITY REQUIREMENTS

Requires the ability to read, write, and process information accurately

Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods

May be required to lift or push up to 65lbs
