We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a key member of our veterinary clinic, you will support our veterinarians in delivering high-quality care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting with medical procedures, patient care, client communication, and maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient clinical environment. Must have at least 1-2 years hands on experience in clinic to be considered. Proficiency with venipuncture, catheter placement and client communication highly desired.
Responsibilities :
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
- Collect and prepare lab samples (blood, urine, feces) for diagnostic testing.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and other treatments under the supervision of the veterinarian.
- Perform basic lab tests, including urinalysis, fecal tests, and blood tests.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as heart rate, temperature, and respiration of patients.
- Assist in preparing patients for surgery, including pre-operative care and anesthesia monitoring if applicable.
- Provide post-operative care and monitor the recovery of surgical patients.
- Educate clients on animal care, medication administration, and post-treatment care instructions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment.
- Assist with client communication, appointment scheduling, and front desk duties as needed.
- Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately during examinations and procedures.
- Stock and maintain inventory of medical supplies and medications.
- Ensure a calm and supportive environment for both animals and their owners.
- 2 Years of previous experience in a veterinary clinic as a veterinary assistant Required.
- Strong animal handling skills and comfort working with a pets.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently when needed.
- Basic knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks. Benefits :
