What are the responsibilities and job description for the SY24-25 Standardized Test Proctor position at Brookline High School?
Overview
Proctors are responsible for distributing and collecting exam materials, following exam instructions, and closely monitoring exams to ensure all testing protocol is followed. They should be organized, comfortable speaking in front of students, comfortable with technology, and attentive to detail. Training will be required and may occur in-person or virtually.
Exam dates run throughout the 2024-25 School Year and into the summer months.
Responsibilities
- Assist with a variety of standardized tests at Brookline High School, including but not limited to: PSAT, Pre-ACT, ACT, SAT, AP, ACCESS, and MCAS.
- Attend proctor training (the time and date of the training depend on the exam date; individual training can be arranged according to the proctors’ schedules). Monitor exam security.
- Proctor exams according to the official instructions including: distributing exams, reading instructions, monitoring students, collecting and counting exams, keeping exam materials secure until returning them to the test coordinator.
- For digital exams, proctors will need to assist students in logging into the testing platform and monitoring student progress digitally.
- Proctors may also be asked to monitor hallways and provide breaks to room proctors during testing.
- Contact the test coordinator immediately for any concerns before, during, and after the exam.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the test coordinator.
Requirements (as determined by College Board/ACT policies)
- Must be a high school graduate.
- Must be a fluent English speaker.
- May not be employed part or full-time at a test preparation company.
- May not participate in any coaching activity that addresses the content of secure College Board or ACT tests.
