What are the responsibilities and job description for the Whipple Story Hour Student Mentor position at Brookline High School?
This position is open to BHS students who have previously participated in the Whipple Story Hour. The student mentor will be hired to help craft and lead our BHS Story Hour students through their writing and performance. The priority will be to pick a student who participated in the BHS Story Hour in a previous year. The student mentor will be paid a $300 stipend for their time working with students. The job will include the following:
- Attend all scheduled meetings with the Story Hour group.
- Meeting 1:1 with participants to edit and offer feedback on their writing.
- Meeting 1:1 with participants to practice reading their pieces and offering feedback.
- Help organize, set up and co-host the final performance of the BHS Story Hour.
