A non-profit multi human services organization providing human services in south Brooklyn is seeking After School Counselor and Assistant Counselor for its comprehensive after school programs implemented in the public school setting for the new school year. High school and college students are welcome to apply.
Job Description for Counselors:
· Taking on leadership role in the classroom setting with 20 elementary school participants
· Teaching fun lessons and activities
· Providing homework help
· Maintaining order in the classroom
· Monitoring and maintaining safety for all participants at all times
Job Description for Assistant Counselors:
· Assisting the Counselor in various program activities
· Assisting the Counselor in preparing program materials
· Providing homework help
· Maintaining order in the classroom
· Keeping the classroom clean
· Monitoring safety for all participants at all times
Qualifications:
· Must be over 16 years old
· Must be high school junior or senior or college students
· Must complete background check and do fingerprinting upon hiring
· Must be able to work with others as a team
· Must have the ability to be flexible and rise above stressful situations
Salary: Competitive hourly rate based on experience
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
