Position: Family Services Coordinator
Reports to: Preschool Director
Work Location: Laurie A. Cumbo Children’s Enrichment Center, 180 Myrtle Ave, Brooklyn NY 11201
Hours: Full Time Monday-Friday 8am–4pm
This position is fully in-person and does not offer any remote work.
Salary Range: $33,340 - $37,067 (dependent on qualifications)
Position Summary
Brooklyn Community Services is one of Brooklyn’s first and largest non-sectarian social services agencies. BCS, which presently serves more than 20,000 individuals annually, is committed to a broad and diverse range of services including education and child care; services to strengthen families; and services to foster self-sufficiency for adults.
Our Early Childhood education program is designed to enhance the physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language development of young children through high quality educational and social services for themselves and their families. The Family Services coordinator assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the center and assists in ensuring compliance with all regulations (DOE, DOH, etc).
Responsibilities:
Reports to Early Childhood Program Director
Organize, plan and facilitate meetings including outreach to parents, guardians and the community;
Assist the Education Director in the recruitment and enrollment of students
Manage new student onboarding - parent orientation, school tours, enrollment
Provide referrals and other resources to parents as needed;
Participate in community outreach and build strategic partners for the program;
Assist with recruitment of parents for participation on Family Advisory Committee
Assists Director with managing center schedules and events
Assist in carrying out other aspects of the program administration including preparing for trips, celebrations, and leadership activities;
Review and assist in the preparation of monthly statistical reports, ensure DOH and CACFP compliance, assist in the relicensing needs of the Preschool program
Manage the reception and front desk
Attend trainings and workshops necessary for work efficiency
Assist in managing the operations of Cumbo’s Children’s Center
Manage work orders for facility
Schedules and supervises the conditions of the facilities such as set-ups and breakdowns of facility equipment and resources;
Assist the Education Director in managing and maintaining student files in compliance with DOE, DOH, and BCS policy.
Assist the Education Director in maintaining compliance with all DOH and DOE regulations.
Provide data entry support in order to ensure timely attendance and enrollment reporting in Vendor Portal and Apricot; input monthly deliverables and other DOE, DOH, or other mandates
Other tasks as may be required.
Qualifications Required:
Position requires a GED or High School diploma
Minimum two years in administration.
Experience working in early childhood education.
Proficiency in data entry, Excel, Word, and Google Suite.
Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
Qualifications Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree
One year of administrative experience in a center-based care setting or school.
