Position Overview

The Marketing Manager will help develop and execute strategic campaigns, partnerships, events, and content to achieve the following goals : increase awareness of Brooklyn Org across target audiences in New York City, grow our base of partners and supporters among target audiences, and drive more traffic and engagement at brooklyn.org and our social channels.

In this newly created full-time exempt role in Brooklyn, the Marketing Manager will report to the Chief of Staff and collaborate closely with the Communications, Donor Engagement, and Donor Services teams to achieve Brooklyn Org’s strategic growth objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute creative marketing strategies to grow Brooklyn Org’s base of partners and supporters, including brand partnerships, outreach events, merchandise, paid media, and digital channels.
  • Research target audience insights, consumer trends, market analysis, and marketing best practices to build successful strategies.
  • Gather customer and market insights to inform outreach strategies and meet growth targets.
  • Present ideas and final deliverables to the senior leadership team regarding marketing programs, strategies, and budgets.
  • Track and evaluate results of marketing strategies against growth goals, providing suggested pivots and revisions based on results.
  • Generate awareness for Brooklyn Org’s membership program as an entry point for a new, broad base of individual donors, families, and small businesses for long-term engagement.
  • Identify, secure, and cultivate partnerships for promotional opportunities in support of Brooklyn Org’s growth goals; negotiate and execute agreements; and manage partner relationships.
  • Plan and execute promotional outreach events to reach target audiences.
  • Manage seasonal “street team” to raise awareness for Brooklyn Org at community events.
  • Represent Brooklyn Org at external events and programs.
  • Support the planning of public programs and member events with the Communications and Donor Engagement teams.
  • Develop and manage Brooklyn Org brand partnerships with retailers, artists, and designers.
  • Conceive, execute, and track digital marketing campaigns, email campaigns, and paid online promotions.
  • Create visual and written content for social media campaigns, email campaigns, and other outreach strategies.
  • Build relationships and oversee content partnerships with digital influencers to promote Brooklyn Org among their audiences.
  • Manage the execution of print advertising campaigns and serve as a liaison with vendors, agencies, and consultants.
  • Manage production schedules, budgets, and invoices.
  • Develop and oversee the design, creation, and distribution of Brooklyn Org merchandise.
  • Lead and manage design and production of marketing materials for outreach events, partnerships, and campaigns.
  • Ensure consistency of brand messaging, providing recommendations for updating and / or modifying based on results of marketing efforts.

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years’ experience planning and executing marketing campaigns, promotional events, and strategic partnerships.
  • Experienced nonprofit fundraiser, public relations strategist, or cause-marketer.
  • Command of email marketing applications and analytics (Mailchimp), as well as social media platforms (Instagram, Tiktok, LinkedIn).
  • Enterprising self-starter and deft relationship builder.
  • Excellent communication and editorial skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to evolving priorities.
  • Facility with data and campaign performance analysis.
  • Experience with graphic design applications (Canva, Adobe Express).
