The ideal candidate for our Teen Camp Director should have strong leadership skills and be passionate about working with teenagers. In addition, the individual should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, flexibility, critical thinking, problem solving skills and a positive attitude.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Teen Camp Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a summer camp specifically designed for teenagers, including planning activities, overseeing field trips, managing staff, ensuring camp safety, fostering a positive social environment, and planning activities, while prioritizing the unique developmental needs and interests of adolescent.

- Schedule management
- Materials management
- Staff supervision
- Safety oversight
JOB DUTIES:
- Participate in hiring of camp counselors and additional staff
- Assist in pre-summer camp planning and organization
- Assist in planning and carrying out camp staff orientation
- Explain and enforce the policies and rules of camp.
- Foster a positive and inclusive camp environment where all teenagers feel valued and respected.
- Manage interpersonal and operational conflicts amongst campers and staff
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers through constant monitoring and implementation of safety protocols.
- Incorporate age-appropriate themes and challenges to promote personal growth and development.
- Provide ongoing supervision and support to staff, addressing concerns, conducting evaluations, and fostering a positive team dynamic.
- Assist in the evaluation and record keeping of staff and campers.
- Oversee management of camp equipment and supplies.
- Address stressful situations appropriately in a fast-paced, interactive environment.
- Understand that campers come first and decisions should be made in the best interest of the campers.
- Be an active member of the camp community by participating in camp programming including camp-wide events, games, and arts & crafts
- Demonstrate a caring, supportive, and professional demeanor * Be able to supervise in a fair and diplomatic manner
- Invest time with campers and staff to meet their needs, challenge their capabilities, and serve as a role model during their time at camp.
- Be totally familiar with emergency procedures and follow them when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with campers, staff, and parents regarding camp policies, schedules, and important updates.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Applicant must be 21 years of age or older by June 15, 2025
- At least 3 years of summer camp experience preferred
- Previous experience working with middle schoolers/teenagers preferred * Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Valid CPR and First Aid Certifications are a plus, but not required
