The Site Director is a crucial leadership role responsible for the smooth and safe operation of our Brooklyn Robot Foundry classes and camps. This individual will oversee the daily activities, ensure the well-being of campers and staff, and serve as the primary point of contact for parents. The Site Director will provide on-site leadership, manage logistics, and maintain a positive and engaging learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Camp Operations and Logistics:
- Oversee the daily schedule and ensure activities run smoothly and on time.
- Manage classroom transitions, breaks, and lunch periods.
- Coordinate and supervise staff, including managing teacher breaks and providing support as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and other relevant information.
- Manage camp supplies and resources.
- Camper Safety and Well-being:
- Prioritize the safety and well-being of all campers at all times.
- Implement and enforce camp safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Address and resolve camper behavior issues positively and constructively.
- Administer basic first aid as needed and coordinate with emergency services when necessary.
- Parent Communication and Liaison:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Provide regular updates to parents on camp activities and camper progress.
- Handle parent check-in and check-out procedures efficiently.
- Communicate any incidents or issues to parents in a timely and sensitive manner.
- Staff Management:
- Provide on-site leadership and support to camp staff.
- Ensure staff adherence to camp policies and procedures.
- Facilitate effective communication among staff members.
- Help to solve conflicts between staff members.
- Classroom Behavior Management:
- Work with instructors to maintain positive classroom environments.
- Intervene when needed to help resolve behavior issues.
- Ensure that campers and staff are following the camp's behavior policies.
- Social Media Content:
- Capture photos and videos of camp activities for social media platforms.
- Collect and organize camper and staff testimonials.
- Contribute to the creation of engaging social media content.
- Ensure that any media collected is done so with the required media release forms.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in camp management, education, or youth development preferred.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
- Experience in conflict resolution and behavior management.
- First aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Passion for STEM education and working with children.
- Experience with social media platforms.
