Substitute Teacher

Brooklyn Schoolhouse, a Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool in Brooklyn, is seeking childcare professionals with flexible schedules to do substitute teaching on an as-needed basis.
The ideal candidate will have a warm, nurturing, patient demeanor, and have experience working with young children ages 2-5 in childcare settings such as babysitting, nannying, daycare or preschools. Our school day is 9am - 4:30pm, and substitute teachers may be needed for a portion or all of the day.
Substitute teachers will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with Brooklyn Schoolhouse teachers to facilitate a supportive and positive learning environment
- Supporting the needs of individual children and small groups as directed by teaching staff
- Assisting with classroom set up and clean up, tidying as the need arises
- Facilitating play alongside children on the floor and at small tables, as well as outdoors
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children
Salary is $25/hour.
