Job Title: Catholic Musician
Location: Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek Chapel, Virginia Beach, VA 23459 or within 50 miles as assigned by JEB Little Creek – Fort Story Command Chaplain.
Overview:
The Joint Expeditionary Base (JEB) Little Creek Command Religious Program (CRP) is seeking a qualified Catholic Musician to provide Catholic musician support services for religious programs at the Joint Base Little Creek Chapel. This role involves planning, preparing, and performing music for a variety of services and events.
Work Hours:
- One Roman Catholic Mass service per week, which begins at 12:15 PM on Sundays and lasts approximately one hour.
- Perform eight special event services per year, with the schedule for these events to be determined.
- Monthly choir rehearsals are also required, lasting approximately one hour each, with the days and times to be determined
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform weekly Roman Catholic Mass services every Sunday at 12:15 pm.
- Provide music for eight special event services throughout the year, such as Ash Wednesday and Christmas Eve Mass.
- Conduct monthly choir rehearsals, including special musical selections.
- Plan and provide music for up to two additional services for funerals, memorials, and special events.
- Collaborate with the officiating Chaplain to ensure the music program aligns with Catholic services.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of experience with Roman Catholic ministries in a military setting.
- Proficient in both instrumental and vocal music direction and performance.
