Job Title: Protestant Music Director

Location: Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho

About the Role:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Protestant Music Director to lead and coordinate music for Protestant worship services at the Mountain Home Air Force Base chapel. This role is crucial in enhancing the spiritual life of the community through music, supporting a diverse congregation with various Protestant faith expressions.

Working Hours:

- Available for Sunday services, rehearsals, and special events, including federal and religious holidays.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate special services as per the liturgical calendar.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan, direct, and lead music for all Protestant worship services, including Sunday services, holiday services, and special events.
- Conduct weekly rehearsals and coordinate music selections with the Chaplain Sponsor.
- Ensure music aligns with the themes of the services and encourage congregational participation.
- Recruit and direct volunteer musicians and vocalists.
- Maintain professional relationships with chapel staff and congregation members.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of two years of experience in leading worship services, including playing musical instruments and directing congregational singing.
- Proficiency in playing piano, keyboard, organ, or guitar.
- Ability to read sight music and sing.
- Knowledge of Protestant worship traditions ranging from liturgical to contemporary styles.
- Must pass a background investigation.
- Ability to work in a religiously pluralistic environment and adhere to the theological tenets of the Mountain Home AFB Protestant community.
